The SonFlow SFB100 series includes one model: SFB101. It is the largest brazed plate heat exchanger in SonFlow’s SFB product range. It is designed for professional HVAC, refrigeration, heat pump, heating, cooling and industrial systems with DN100 flanged connections, with application suitability and configuration determined by the fluids and specific operating parameters.
SFB101 is available with a design pressure of 16 or 25 bar, a temperature range from −100°C to +185°C, and TL, TM or TK plate corrugations. The DN100 flanged connections are supplied in PN16 or PN25 versions.
The copper-brazed construction has no replaceable gaskets. The heat exchanger is built from corrugated AISI 316 stainless steel plates, copper brazed in a vacuum process. The resulting plate pack provides a large heat transfer area within compact overall dimensions.
The TL, TM and TK plate corrugations provide different thermal and hydraulic characteristics, allowing selection according to the required heat duty and allowable pressure drop. The DN100 connections are available in two flange arrangements: two flanges mounted on a common oval plate (Mickey Mouse Flange) or separate Compact Flanges. The choice depends on the pipe layout and available installation space.
SFB101 can be specified for new installations or as a replacement for an existing heat exchanger when the overall dimensions, flange connections, materials and operating parameters are compatible. SFB101 brazed plate heat exchanger with two flange connection options
SFB101 can be configured with either of two DN100 flanged connection arrangements. The appropriate arrangement depends on the piping layout and available installation space. The PN16 or PN25 connection rating is specified according to the system requirements.
The flange connections provide a secure mechanical connection to the piping system and allow the heat exchanger to be removed from the installation for inspection, flushing or service work.
Mating flanges for connection to the pipework are not included in the scope of supply.
Flanged connections on a common oval plate
The two DN100 flanged connections are formed on a common oval plate. SonFlow designates this arrangement as the “Mickey Mouse Flange”.
Separate compact flanged connections
Each DN100 connection is designed as a separate compact flanged connection. SonFlow designates this arrangement as the “Compact Flange”.
