SonFlow SF350 Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

SonFlow SF350 is a single-pass series of gasketed plate heat exchangers with connections for DN350 flanges, designed for industrial and energy systems with high flow rates. It includes SF352, SF353 and SF354 with three plate heights. The model, plate pattern and number of plates are selected according to the required thermal duty, temperatures, flow rates and allowable pressure drop.
The gasketed construction provides access to the plates for inspection, mechanical cleaning and replacement of plates and gaskets. KONTECH provides selection and supply of SonFlow SF350 to order. The proposed configuration, price and delivery lead time are provided in the quotation.

New heat exchanger
Send the fluids, flow rates, and inlet and outlet temperatures on both sides. Specify the operating and design pressures, allowable pressure drop and installation constraints.
Heat exchanger replacement
Send photos of the nameplate and unit, operating parameters, overall dimensions and connection details. We will assess replacement options using SonFlow SF350 or another series.
Plates and gaskets
Send the model, serial number, required quantity and photos of the nameplate, plate or gasket. Specify the fluids and operating temperatures so we can check material compatibility.
Models SF352, SF353 and SF354
All three models use plates with a width of 990 mm and a horizontal port pitch of 565 mm. The different plate heights provide different heat transfer areas per plate. Selection is based on thermal and hydraulic calculations.
SF352 · plate size 990 × 2333 mm
The model with the shortest plate in the series. The vertical port pitch is 1908 mm. The overall frame height shown in the manufacturer’s drawing is 2728 mm.
SF353 · plate size 990 × 2893 mm
The vertical port pitch is 2468 mm. The overall frame height is 3288 mm. The number of plates is selected according to the operating parameters.
SF354 · plate size 990 × 3418 mm
The model with the tallest plate in the series. The vertical port pitch is 2993 mm. The overall frame height shown in the manufacturer’s drawing is 3813 mm.
When to consider SF350
KONTECH recommends considering SF350 for industrial, energy and infrastructure installations with high flow rates and connections for DN350 flanges. The series is used for heating, cooling and heat recovery where the fluids and selected materials are compatible.
Plate size, plate pattern and number of plates are selected together. A taller plate does not automatically make a unit more suitable. Selection accounts for the required thermal duty, temperatures, flow rates and allowable pressure drop.
When to consider another series
For different flow rates, connection sizes or installation dimensions, explore the other SonFlow gasketed plate heat exchangers.
For fluids containing particles or fibres, or fluids with high viscosity, a Free Flow plate heat exchanger may be considered.
Typical applications of SonFlow SF350
- Energy and district heating systems: Heat transfer between circuits in central heating and cooling systems. Selection accounts for the temperature regime, flow rates and design pressure on each side.
- Industrial processes: Heating and cooling of process fluids, equipment cooling and waste heat recovery. Materials are selected according to the fluid composition.
- Data centres: Separation of cooling circuits. Sizing is based on the thermal load, required temperatures and allowable pressure drop.
- Geothermal systems: Heat transfer between a geothermal source and a secondary circuit. Selection requires information on water chemistry, temperatures and the risk of deposits.
- Marine applications: Heat transfer in central cooling systems. For seawater duties, titanium plates are considered and the compatibility of the connection lining and gaskets is checked.
- Chemical and mining industries: Heating and cooling following assessment of fluid chemistry, viscosity and particle content. The configuration also accounts for the intended cleaning method.
Configuration for the fluids and operating conditions
Plates
The SF350 series is available with AISI 304, AISI 316 or titanium plates. The material is selected according to the fluid composition, temperatures and corrosion resistance requirements. The plate pattern and number of plates are specified in the quotation.
Frame
A carbon steel frame painted RAL 5010 is available with a design pressure of 10, 16 or 25 bar. Frame size depends on the model and plate pack. Selection accounts for installation and maintenance requirements.
Gaskets
NBR or EPDM gaskets are available. The material and attachment method are specified for the selected unit. Selection accounts for the fluids, operating temperatures and cleaning agents.
Connections
The SF350 series is available with connections for DN350 flanges, with or without rubber lining. Mating pipe flanges are not included in the supply. The connection arrangement, flange standard and pressure rating are specified in the quotation.
